Question / Help Best internal/external capture card.

Hi all,

I've been using the Avermedia Live Gamer HD for some time now and have been considering an upgrade. Is there anything new on the market that improves on that card?

I'd prefer an internal card but am really interested in anything that has recently come to market with any improvements.

Much appreciated.

The Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI is probably the best capture card on the market at present for livestreaming purposes. Blows the AverMedia gear out of the water. Everything from 1080p@60 down to 240i (for retro consoles if you play NES and similar). Capture delay is ridiculously short.
You can also get the same card from SabrePC as the Yuan SC512, for $200, without the passthrough daughtercard or DVI->HDMI adapter ($7).

External, you're probably best with the XCAPTURE-1, which is essentially an SC512 with a USB 3.0 interface.

If you're looking for high-end stuff, take a look at the Datapath Vision cards. But they cost generally in the four-figure range and are missing stuff like audio capture via HDMI/DVI.

Thanks again Ferret.

Just been looking at these and they are not easy to get in the UK.

I find it mind blowing that there is not a widely commercially available capture card here in the UK for 60fps streaming!
