Question / Help Best Handbrake settings for Youtube Upload?

The software Handbrake is very often mentioned here, I looked up guides for the best settings but they doesn't seem to work Properly!

Handbrake Worsen the Qaulity of my Ultrafast CRF18 OBS files when they are up on YT.

See the difference here:
OBS only on veryfast direct upload
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r317KKnD-Pc

OBS Ultrafast CRF 18, Hanbraked Constant Framerate/ Same as Source, CRF 18 Advanced Tab Refernce Frame 4 everything else Default.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_m6wuhOLx8

So what is wrong? What settings I need to check

The Bitrate of the 1st vid is about 11kb/s the bitrate of the second about 15kb/s and still the 1st one looks way better!

Edit: It seems I looked on the wrong Software all along. The Problem occured since I use Ultrafast preset on OBS, but it shouldn't make any difference due to the fact that there is no bitrate limit at all! So why does my older Videos look so much better than my new recordings on Ultrafast? The Quality is as bad as the ones with Handbrake even if I upload the Raw Material that is very dirsturbing to me and really frustrating!

Best success I had with Youtube quality was recording the initial video at a high arbitrary bitrate of 100Mbps, then re-encode with Handrake on pretty much default settings.

The 28 minute video went from 7.3GB (36Mbps) to 2.4GB (12Mbps) and wasn't mauled by Youtube as the original was. The Handrake settings were web optimised and constant framerate.

My video's here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciMem1CMQX8

That's an old game so obviously doesn't have anything like the detail of your videos, but I'm finally happy with the results.

Edit: Sapiens' correction.

@ezoray 100 Kbps is pretty low for a local recording unless you followed https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/how-to-make-high-quality-local-recordings.16/

@PrinceVinc Youtube specs call for no more than 2 consecutive bframes and a keyframe interval of half the video's frame rate. For a 30 FPS video, Extra Options under the Video tab would be set to bframes=2:keyint=15 and for a 60 FPS video they would be bframes=2:keyint=30.

I record with OBS at a constant frame rate and the utlrafast preset using the settings from the local recording guide I linked above, then re-encode in Handbrake at crf 23 using the slower x264 preset. Audio is AAC passthrough. You can always use a less demanding preset if you don't want to wait as long for your video to encode, but the output will be slightly larger.

Sorry I omitted to mention I was using NVEnc, I set it to 100kbps but it never seemed to reach that high when recording.

Thanks for the heads up on the settings, I'll try them out next time I'm uploading to Youtube.

One more thing I want to Upscale the video additionally to get a higher bitrate on youtube, can I just set at the Picture tab
None/Modulus 16 and tick Keep Aspectratio and type in 1440?

I tried it here but I can't chose 1440p in Chrome, but I uploaded it as a 1440p Video.

So the settings would look like this now? (see picture)
(There went something worng the resolution is sopposed to be 2560x1440!)

Filters are all off Audio is AAC Passthru?

And thx for the additional input.
And I am Using the settings mentioned in your local recording link.
I figured out afterwards that it wasn't the compression of hanbrake wich worsens the quality it seems to be OBS.
Since I stopped using veryfast on OBS and direct upload the RAW file, IF I upload the RAW Video file on Ultrafast the quality is already worse.

What could be the Problem?
Preset Ultrafast RAW file:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRZLe4gjWbo

Preset Veryfast RAW file:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgvG2sf8XnE

@ezoray the quality is amazing I want that too and I already record without bitrate limit and a CRF of 18

@Sapiens Is there any difference in the Preset Quality if I record on Ultrafast rather as on veryfast without bitrate limit? Because I stumbled over the Hanbrake Extra options and if I set those to veryfast/ultrafast the applied "codes/commands" change/increase in number, could this be the cause for my quality loss? That the Ultrafast preset sacrafice quality even without any bitrate limit?
