Question / Help Before buying laptop, will it run OBS?

The laptop I have won't run OBS because the integrated GPU is too weak, so I'm looking at buying a new one, but I want to make sure it will enable me to stream through my HD PVR2 capture card, or there's no point spending the money. Also, I'm a teacher, so I'm having to bargain shop. I don't have $750 to $1K to spend.

The one I'm considering, newegg has for about $450:

CPU: AMD A-Series A10-7300 (1.9GHz)
GPU: AMD Radeon R6 Series Integrated Card/Shared System Memory
RAM: 4GB, upgradeable (eventually) to 8GB
Memory: 500GB HDD, upgradeable (eventually) to 256GB SSD

Any ideas on if it'll work, or do I just need to save for another 6 months?

Dodge, first, thank you for such a quick reply!

I know a laptop is always going to be less effective, but would I be better served with an i5, or even an i7, and if so, is there a better/worse option on one of those as to which GPU to get? And will the 1.7GHz suffice, or go stronger? The primary use for the laptop will be to stream (toted back and forth between two rooms, hence laptop). Just want to make sure if I'm dropping $5-600 or more, that it will do what I need it to. Right now I can only stream through the PS4, and I'd rather use OBS for its superior functionality.

Thanks again!

I'd honestly like to be able to run 720p at 30FPS. My upload at the moment is 4.5 MBps, but we might be getting Google Fiber in the next year.

Intel/nVidia laptops seem to work a lot better with OBS in my experience, so I would recommend an i5 or i7 and an nVidia GPU that ends in -50 or higher. If you get a laptop with an i5 or i7, it would be best if the full name of the CPU had a Q or QM at the end (meaning it's a true quad-core), but if not, I guess you can live with it. 720p30 would likely be possible on such a laptop even if it wasn't a true quad-core.

Also keep in mind that to use the HD-PVR, you'll need to use OBS Multiplatform: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/latest-windows-test-build-0-7-3.23342/

Didn't read carefully enough sorry. I am still curious about what you want to stream. My 6 year old gateway Laptop can run OBS with an i3 dual core and an mobility radion hd5650. I cannot however stream higher resource requiring games at 720p+30fps like payday or COD.

Have decided to try and run it from my desktop and just move the consoles to one room. I probably need a new video card, but I can get that cheaper than a new laptop. Just need to know should I download the OBS beta or the OBS multiplatform? ETA: Nevermind, just re-read that it's my capture card that necessitates which version I DL. My bad.

Same hope as far as resolution, 720p x 30 fps

Here's my setup with weaker graphics card:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 @ 3.33 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce G100
RAM: 6G
Memory: 2 HDD - 250GB (primary, faster but don't know exact RPM) & 160GB (aux)

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thanks community!
