Specs:

CPU: i5 2500k @ 4.5GHz (CPU-Z -> http://puu.sh/4BxQc.png)
GPU: XFX 7970 DD
Monitor: BenQ XL2411T @ 144hz
8GB RAM DDR3 1333MHz
Windows 8 64bit
50/10 Internet

OBS Settings:

newest beta version (v0.57.02)
Encoding -> Use CBR checked, 3200 bitrate, audio aac 128
Broadcast settings -> Minimize Network Impact checked
Video -> 1600x900 downscaled to 720p Lanczos filter, 60fps.
everything else is default

While streaming with 720p 60fps it feels like im playing with less than 60hz, mouse movement feels laggy-ish etc. It is just unplayable.
My friend who has same setup except GTX 770 & Windows 7 gets 350-370fps on that same spot (de_inferno, watching banana from car) while i have 200.

Any suggestions?

I know i dropped alot of frames (20%) dunno if the problem is twitch's server or my internet sucking :3

btw, if any of you guys have 2500k & HD 7970 and some free time, please test csgo with those stream settings. go to your own server, select de_inferno and check what fps you have on this spot ( http://puu.sh/4By5h.jpg ) I have mine ingame resolution set to 1600x900 and everything on low except msaa & aa 2x.

I have a 2500k and a 7950, and don't seem to have many problems with it. Not even overclocked either. Your logs look impeccable, outside of frame drops.

Is it only when you're in an actual multiplayer game? If for example you think it's something like ping issues, you should try minimize network impact in broadcast settings.

If it's something like actual video lag in the game, hm. Not sure. A lot of FPS players use 120hz monitors and super high FPS settings (neither of which I have myself), and sometimes playing at super super high framerates can eat into the GPU and it ends up causing OBS and the game to fight over the GPU a bit. Usually just limiting the FPS a little bit can help, though I'm not entirely sure.

Well, i had like half of fps which i should get and the feeling ingame was terrible. I installed fresh Windows 8 yesterday and today tried Windows 7 and boom 370fps on that spot. Not sure what caused bad performance in Windows 8, every other game i streamed was running fine. (BF3, Resident Evil 6 etc.)

Attached the log from Windows 7 session. (Everything is fine now)

That log file doesn't show any sources used -- either that or I'm crazy.

OH wait I see the problem, "using memory capture". How on earth did that happen? If that happens on a D3D9 game you need to email me your D3D9 DLLs as soon as possible (from C:\windows\system32 and from C:\windows\syswow64) so I can make exception code for them to fix the capture issue.

That was the problem. Wasn't your fault or particularly windows 8's fault in that case. Just that you were using a Direct3D revision which I didn't have code for. If you send me those DLLs from that version of windows when it's happening I can fix the performance issue.

Im using Windows 7 now, so you're saying that the problem was with Windows 8 that it was using memory capture somehow and that caused poor performance, am i right? I think im getting better fps without stream as well on Windows 7.

I'm having problems streaming CS:GO as well.

Specs:
CPU: i5 3570k @4GHz
GPU: 2GB GTX 560
RAM: 8GB 1600
Monitor: 144Hz Asus
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Internet: 30/4

When i stream the game feels choppy and i also have some pretty bad frame drops. While not streaming i hover around 250FPS and while streaming, downscaled to 720p, i drop below 120FPS.

I have my bitrate at 2000, my resolution in game is 1920x1080 with all video settings in game on lowest, stream res is 1280x720, and CPU preset on Very fast.

What am i doing wrong? I would like to play/stream the game at 150+ FPS. Any advice?

Always post a log if you have issues -- don't just post your specs.

Jim, anything you could see here? Compared against others (even if using 720) i feel like im getting lower fps than others who streams with same setup.

I have 120hz monitor so i have lowered in-game fps to fps_max 150 to have some room, also turned off filter to billinear to lower impact on CPU.

Using 3570K, 660TI, 8gb of ram.

Windows 8, 1 monitor.
