Question / Help Bad frame tearing

Aero should be enabled when using window capture anyway, and can have the additional benefit of preventing screen tearing.

For some reason my screen capture doesn't even work with aero enabled. It's just a black screen.

My guess is that it's because you're capturing at 45fps, which could cause a desync with the frame rate of the Hauppauge program. Does it work better if you stream at 30fps?

The 45 fps was from before i did 60. The last session in the log is the one from the twitch link. I want to have a smooth 60fps stream, but my only problem is this weird frame tearing. I've tried using CFR, I've tried changing my CPU setting to superfast/ultrafast.

Another question maybe one of you can answer, does checking 'save to file' make it any harder on your CPU?

I still haven't solved it. I have however figured out that by double left clicking my capture module while it's open, makes the game full screen. So my screen region is now a full 1920x1080 downscaled to 720p. It honestly looks a ton better than before, but the tearing still exists. This is the only thing wrong with my stream and I cannot for the life of me figure it out. Please help.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the PVR 2 outputting 59.94 fps? But the monitor (it's actually a tv) doesn't display any frame tearing from the capture module so it's got to be something with how the frames are grabbed, right?

For anyone that finds this thread with the same problem - I've been testing so many different settings. I've upgraded the capture module to version 32008, and changed my nvidia control panel vsync setting for the capture module to adaptive, and I've changed my OBS from window capture to monitor capture (with the capture module in full screen). At 30fps the frame tearing seems to be gone. I do not think the application even displays 60fps, so there is no point.
