So when i try to use the game capture feature on my laptop I just get a black screen. I have tried everything i can find on how to fix the issue, from setting my NVidia Geforce graphics card as the default in the Nvidia task manager, to updating my driver and turning off my antivirus software. I am currently trying to record pokemon red on the visual boy advance emulator but i have also tried portal and dota 2 and none of them work. So at this point im hoping you can diagnose something from my log file because i'm all out of ideas.

Thanks in advance!

I don't believe you can use game capture on VBA. You have to use Window capture, and that should work fine.

No. I can tell where my window is on the preview because whenever my mouse strays outside it itll leave a trail of the mouse that stay on the screen permanently. But i cant get it to show up what so ever. Both OBS and VBA are set to use my NVIDIA graphics card. But one strange thing that happens is that OBS sometimes doesn't recognise by intel graphics card as being an option. Instead it shows two copies of my NVIDIA and a microsoft basic rendering driver.

That works great for the video! When i plug in my microphone will i be able to hear any of the game sound on the recording?

Btw Thank you so much you were so helpful!

OBS is designed to take both audio feeds simultaneously so yes you should still be able to hear your desktop/game sound if you decide to plug in a microphone.

Cecil - The reason you get a still frame is because your CPU is too weak to encode an HD stream, and the encoder is stalling the frames. You only have two cores, so use more downscale (2.0 or more), as well as potentially setting the 'x264 CPU preset' in advanced to 'ultrafast'.
