Hello there,
Firstly if there is a post similar to this then i apologize but after days of trawling though forums i'm about at my wits end.
There are many schools of thought when setting up a 2pc stream set up audio route, so i was hoping that people more intelligent than i can help me out.
This is what i would like to achieve - 1) take audio from the gaming PC and transfer it to the streaming PC
2) Have an XLR microphone take audio from a mixer, to the streaming PC
3) Have OBS see the audio from the gaming PC, and the microphone as two separate audio feeds so that ---> 4) I can activate the noise gating software in OBS so that it shuts off my mic when not in use during a stream
I've tried several methods to achieve this and currently i have the set up as HDMI out of the gaming PC GPU to the LGHD, HDMI out of the LGHD into the back of the main monitor. Speakers hooked up to the main monitor.
This however has some stability issues as during game play if i alt tab out of the game i can sometimes end up with distorted image capture from the LGHD or loss of audio all together. Also this route requires both the gaming PC and the streaming PC to be on at the same time.
I would like to be able to use this route - HDMI out of the gaming pc GPU to an HDMI splitter, Split the signal 2 ways one to the gaming monitor, one to the LGHD, but i'm not sure if a splitter will transfer the audio nor that the LGHD will recognise it.
Its integral that i'm able to keep the gaming PC sound and the mic input as two seperate signals so that i don't get mixing and end up unable to put on noise gating.
Please help and i'm happy to expand with any information you might have!
