Question / Help Avermedia LGP Doesn't seem to be consistently 30fps

Hi there,

Whenever I stream as of the last few weeks with the Avermedia Live Gamer Portable it just doesn't seem to be a smooth 30fps. Aswell as streaming with OBS, I use the Stream Engine to record the 1080p30fps20-60mbits (not always, I did try to rule this out aswell) and then comparing the 2 videos side by side the OBS recording seems to stutter/drop/not be smooth.

I'll attach my latest stream log of Last of Us Remastered. https://gist.github.com/anonymous/514ef39966aabd2a4b56
The 3 hour stream started at 'Stream Start: 2014-10-25, 19:45:52'

Now I know I have my preset on Faster, I know I have chroma keying, and my webcam is set to forcing it to 1080p RGB output format, but I have tried ruling all of them out by having them off (no webcam, plus dropping back to Very Fast CPU preset) and it STILL seems to be stuttery.

I also tried dropping the downscale filter from Lanczos back down to Bilinear during testing last night with not much of a change.

I would just like to know if the issue is more to do with Avermedia improving Stream Engine as I know that's in earlyish stages or if there's something I'm missing in the OBS settings as I know I have some other than normal things.

Any help would be appreciated. :)

I can now see that there are a handful of similar sounding threads in the forums regarding all Directshow capture cards. I also noticed a comment from paibox (https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/avermedia-extremecap-u3-not-quite-60fps.15222/#post-82685) saying that it's an issue with OBS trying to use it as soon as it comes in, and the rewrite is supposedly going to be better at this task or something?

I'm not sure if what I mentioned above is in the current state of the rewrite just yet, but I will try a few other things I saw in other threads and post back if anything succeeds.

Yeah, there has been 3 or 4 threads with a similar issue. It doesn't seem as if there is a fix at this time. I have tried different decoders (for raw video on XCAPTURE-1) using ffdshow, i've tried to window capture another program (which has had no issues) and the same micro-stutter occurs (albeit less noticable).

Game / Window capture of PC games has no issues, it only seems to have an issue if a capture card is involved.

If you find any solutions, let us know. I have literally tried everything I can think of (including another PC).
