Question / Help Avermedia extremecap not working need help asap

So I just got an avermedia extremecap u3 to start being able to stream from my console with my PC overlay and whatnot. I got the driver and the recdesk program they have for it. I an open up their program and see that it is indeed capturing the video from my console and my PC can read and show it to me on their program. However, when setting it up as a video input device, it reads the device but nothing ever shows up. The only tutorial video just simply shows them adding it and then it just works. I agree it should just be working but isn't and I have no idea where to start to fix it. It won't even window capture the recdesk program. Anything to do with what's coming out of the avermedia it acts like it's a black hole

Make sure the device isn't in use by another program at the same time as it is being used by OBS.

I found a window capture of recdesk I can use. And it's in full frame and good quality but even with everything else closed I can't get the avermedia to come up as a video source input. I have it working for now so I guess that's all that matters.
