Auto configuration wizard is too high a resolution how do I make it lower

Thats the problem. I don't see how to set a custom resolution.

1280 x 720 is too high for the wifi I am using now

Resolution has no impact on bitrate. You can configure your bitrate independently of resolution in Settings / Output.
