I have a blue snowball microphone and whenever I use it and any other mic too, the audio has a lot of static even when I enable the noise gate. I also notice with the static, my mic and static get gradually louder the longer I record and i have the mic volume within the computer settings set lower than normal, and mic volume within obs set to about 30-50% but it continues to get louder. When I first start it, I sound quiet, same with the static, but then after several seconds, it gets louder.

Has this happened to anyone else? it makes it hard for me to stream properly when this happens.

Make sure your computer is properly ground, so try plugging it into a different outlet. Second, in the windows recording devices settings, for your microphone, make sure to turn off mic boost as well

I find that the rear audio plug typically has less static in general. this is because it is not connected to the motherboard over a wire like the front-end audio plug is.

I actually am unable to plug it into a different outlet, my bedroom only has one outlet. The mic also doesn't have a boost option.

Your best bet then if you cant plug in anywhere else is to get a USB Mic adapter. The issue itself has nothing to do with OBS however
