Question / Help Audio with dedicated capture PC

I need help getting my setup to work properly with audio.

My setup:
Gaming PC:
Logitech g930 headset (USB)
speaker jack in back -> Audio In capture card (Other PC)

Captrue PC:
Live Gamer HD internal Capture Card.
Blue Snowball iCE (Set up at game PC) (Thresholds are perfect, only captures when I'm speaking)

Problem:
My video is perfect, my snowball captures my voice perfect. Im not getting any game audio in my recordings.

I need my game audio to be in my ears via the g930.
My voice out to my team mates goes from g930.
The snowball captures my voice for the recordings
The audio out Game PC -> Capture PC needs to record other team voices and game audio.

Cant for the life of me figure this out. Been working for a week on this and no results. Thank you for reading.

Does your G930 provide any sort of "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear"-type recording device? If your C985 is connected via HDMI you can just use the Listen To function on that recording device and mirror it to the capture card's playback device.

i do have stereo mix, and I enabled that to my g930 so i can hear through my headset when i default my speakers to my line out. Im showing audio going out of my gaming PC but im not picking it up on the capture pc. I even switched from the capture card audio in to the capture PC audio in on teh motherboard.

Hmm, does the Stereomix belong to the G930 or your onboard soundcard?
If it belongs to the G930 just get into the properties of the Stereomix, activate listen to and select either your speaker out (as you mentioned in your initial setup) or use the hdmi audio device, if you connected the capture card over hdmi as Sapiens already suggested, in the dropdown.

I managed to get all my audio to the capture card, but now the mic is ALWAYS on... if i set the mic threshhold then the game audio cuts in and out... or my voice mic is still recording even when Im not talking. I dont understand why this is so difficult? Why does OBS not allow us to add audio sources the way we add video sources? I feel like I must be missing something that all the rest of you already know. It seems so stupid.

Use a program like Skype/TS3/Mumble to get your voice over to the encoding PC, those programs offer more flexibility in how your voice is transmitted.

im trying to cut down on the amount of software Im needing to to record. Im comfortable with 2 programs (like OBS and voicemeeter). All I really need to know is how I can configure either my snowball mic on the capture PC, or the g930 on my gaming PC to auto mute when I'm not talking. OBS gives the option for ALL incoming audio, but I need 1 source to be always on, and the other to regulated by voice levels.

Anyone solve this issue?

OK i think i got this.... Im using "NoiseGator" and "Voicemeeter" together to create a virtual mixer that adds my snowball to the line in from my game PC and noisegator adds a noise gate to the snowball...

Unfortunately when I set my OBS audio input to voicemeeter virtual output my OBS gives me an error and I get a CTD. Here is the log file. https://gist.github.com/cad534ec98b21b4c3ccc

Hmm audio client in use, make sure exclusive mode is deactivated for all your audio devices:

On the recording/streaming PC, cant you use the noisegate of OBS with your Snowball mic?

I'd like to use the nose gate of obs but it doesn't differentiate between the snowball mic and the line in audio from the game pc. Unless I'm missing something. All these issues could be easily handled if obs let me manage multiple audio sources independently

Jack0r: Ok so your advice didnt work at all. I changed every audio device to not exclusive. Still crashes to desktop.

Hmm, it was a wild guess, maybe Jim knows more about that error.
For the multiple audio sources, that will be available in the rewrite in the future.

Well here's hoping its soon :D lol. I got a major project in mind, its not super time sensitive but it will be in a few months. I got about that long to figure this out.

Hey Jack0r is there any word on when that update might be? I swapped out the snowball ice for a better audio technica but I still have the same problem of getting both my game audio from line in, and the usb mic both into OBS while having a noise gate on the usb mic and not on the game audio.

This is just driving me nuts :( It just seems so simple to me and I cant fathom why it wasn't added in already :(
