Question / Help Audio too low

Just signed up today for starters, after my friend showed me this program, which I enjoy so far. However! have a problem with recording, to do with my mic in particular.

Been trying to look for an answer, but so far, no luck. Anyway, my problem is this, my voice seems to be playing back rather low when I play my game and in turn, record it. I finished a record session of Surgeon Simulator and played back the clip... and my voice was mumbled through it when I was talking clearly and all that, as if the mic was low.

Checked settings and all that and they seem to be as fine as can be. It's the only issue I have right now on what's going on with it.

Does anyone have an answer as to what could be wrong with it? A rough idea at the very least? It would be rather appreciated as it took me a while as is to figure out how to record and have my facecam up at the same time XD

I did that in the mic options... and it did seem to make my voice louder, but also gave it a small pitch I think it was. It was in the advanced options of the mic itself in the Control Panel.

I don't know how to use the other options in the OBS itself, as in, which boost to, well, boost up, if it's actually Desktop Boost (or if that's for the game itself) or if it's the other one...

Sorry about the question there and sounding noobish XD

Edit: The other thing I should mention is I'm using a laptop, Windows 8 as well. I mean, the game runs fine for recording, just the built-in mic is screwing up. Not capturing my voice clear enough, but when I tap near the mic, it's rather clear. Granted, there is still a small delay too I noticed with the sound coming in. Only by like a second.

Okay, getting somewhere with this, but now, I have a bit of an echo happening on my mic. I mean, the sound isn't too bad now, could be a bit better, but for now I don't mind it, just the echo that's annoying and not sure how to get rid of it. I have the boost at 7 too, along with the whole mono thing checked... as it seemed to help the voice. But both areas where the mic is selected is selected. Should only one be selected?
