Audio questions (RNNoise control? Recording with and without?)

Hi there,
we are using OBS Studio 27.1 as the source for streaming into zoom and now we try to optimize our audio quality.

We are using the RNNoise filter on the microphone, and while it is doing a great job most of the time in suppressing extra noise, sometimes the speaker comes out a bit glitchy (e.g. the very beginning of a spoken word is almost filtered out).

So I was wondering whether there is a way to adjust the filter in some way? E.g. can I mix it/apply it only at 50% to the audio?

Also, it would be really nice to be able to do an A/B recording in OBS for comparison, once with the filter and once without it at the same time, from the same audio source. Is that possible?

Thanks!

It is possible to save different OBS audio sources to different audio tracks (up to 6-7 stereo tracks supported in recordings, the Output Mode: Advanced).
You can add to OBS one source with the filter applied and another one without the filter.
And look for Advanced Audio Properties in main menu or in the mixer pane of the OBS to set to which track each of your sources will be saved.

Streaming usually supports only one audio track for transmission (there all sources you select will be mixed).

By default, OBS mixes all sources into all tracks.

there was additional filter (the "RNNoise noise remover") in the https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/categories/obs-studio-plugins.6/ section of the forum. At leat on v27 of OBS it was working OK and had far better functionality.

OBS supports VST effects as filters.
A google search for "noise suppression vst" (without quotes) comes up with some interesting results. Some free, some paid. Pick some that look good and play around with them.
