Hey,
Since i switched from win7 to win8 i have been getting a weird audio issue when streaming.
Here is a video example of it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4JnfGVMQSI
First clip is streaming with win7 and second is with win8. OBS settings on both win are the same.
On win8 sound quality is really poor and deep as well as bass are really high.
It's not a sound related driver issue because i already have been messing with them and sound that i hear is just fine, it's obs that is hearing that poor sound.
If any more info is needed let me know

Thanks :)

I actually have no clue why that's occurring admittedly. (Though I actually think the latter part sounds a bit better for some reason, though perhaps a bit too much bass, I agree)

It's most likely just a setting in windows or sound control panel, perhaps. Not drivers at fault, but just some setting somewhere. OBS doesn't modify the sound when it captures it so there must be some setting causing that somewhere. Or at least that's my best guess.

Not blaming OBS at all for this, just though that someone here could help me out if have experienced something similiar. For me it seems like windows 8 thinks that every sound device are speakers and so sound is adapted to speakers instead of headphones, so it feels deep and bass are powerfull. But i have no idea how to fix it.

Yea, there might be some setting somewhere that's optimizing for your headphones, I have that with my sound card and I always turn it off (and actually almost forgot to turn it off last time I reinstalled windows before I realized there was something wrong)

Im using usb sound card and it's control panel to achieve good sound, with it's default profile sound is somewhat the same as on second clip and when i use default sound ports (front and back) for audio sound is the same as well, deep/low and strong bass.
I have been going trough playback/recording and other sound related options trought windows but no luck so far at all.
On windows 7 default settings already were good, it's just windows 8 that has this audio issue, but im not looking to going back to windows 7 just because of this :/
