Bug Report Audio Popping/Crackling with Logitech Webcams

Hello, just wondering if anyone has experienced this problem before/has any solutions. I am streaming some conference meetings, using 2 Logitech webcams(a Logitech Pro 9000 and a Pro C920) and a Sony Handycam(which has a max resolution of 480i), connected via firewire. An Edirol UA-25 is bringing the audio in from the mixer. In the stream, we were noticing some popping/crackling in the audio. We were also recording the audio in Audacity, in when we listened to the recordings afterwards, the same popping/crackling was there. Though it might be because of the cpu load, but we reduced the resolution, and cut off some other things that were taking up processor power. That seemed to reduce the sound a slight amount, but it was still very noticeable. After doing some troubleshooting, we have determined that the problem lies with the webcams-when using only the Handycam, there is no issues with the sound. We tested each camera, and only had one camera plugged in at a time. With both webcams, the audio is bad, but when we use just the Handycam, audio was fine, as was the Audacity recording. I have checked the drivers, and everything appears to be up to date. I looked around online to see if anyone else was having the same problem, but the only cases that sounded similar fixed the problem by lowering the resolution to 720p, which is what we are running it at.

Would really like to get the two webcams back up and running; the Handycam quality is not that great. Also, tomorrow, the Graduation ceremony is supposed to be streamed, and it would be nice to have a solution by then.

If I have forgotten anything or if you need any more information, please let me know, and Ill do my best to find out.

Any solutions/ideas welcome!

Try this: in the source properties double click the source, this should open a new window with settings for the source. On the lower right of the window you'll find a slider that lets you adjust the gamma of the source. Right above the slider is an option called "Use WaveOut audio renderer". Check the box right next to it and see if it fixes the audio issues.

Just tested it - definitely less, but still there. Will try a more intensive test later tonight.

In more extensive tests, audio was still messed up, bad enough that we still cant use the webcams
