Audio looping problem

When I stream, the Desktop audio seems to loop for some unknown reason and I have tried a lot of solutions and I have no idea what the problem could be

Do you have open-air speakers and a microphone? if yes, there is your loop

I disabled OBS' Global Audio Sources, and added select audio sources only as required (and I needed nothing from Desktop Audio... but that is my use case, and doesn't apply to many others). OBS v28 apparently will include functionality similar to the Win-capture-audio plugin https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/win-capture-audio.1338/

Did you set the audio from the desktop to be monitored in the advanced audio settings?
