Question / Help Audio Lag issue, not sure if it is just the webcam.

I tried searching a bit for this, sorry if this seems like a repost. I have the Logitech c930e and I was recording some Hearthstone, have my face in the corner, that whole deal. I use an external mic, but when I watch it, the audio seems early. Not sure if that is just the case because of the webcam? I also saw there is a latency option for audio but that seemed to only be for streaming? Also, not even sure how that work. I used the game as window capture and the webcam as video game capture I believe. Any help or plugin support? Or easy fix? I also was having issues trying to edit these files in Avid Media Composer. The picture would show up completely green but the audio was fine. That would make me have to use handbrake, encode it differently and then it was fine. Also wondering about that issue, if there is a fix or a different format plugin I can try for after recording. Thank you.

Most likely your webcam video is later than your voice. I would probably need to see, but such a thing is pretty rare and the c9xx cams are usually pretty good about it so that's a bit strange. May I see a log file from it? https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/problem-make-sure-to-post-a-log-and-or-crash-dump-howto.97/

Most likely I'm guessing that the webcam resolution is too high. Try turning down the webcam resolution to only the amount you need to display at (especially if you have it in the corner). If you don't want to do that, sometimes it has to do with USB ports. Switching it to a different USB port can help, or even putting it in to a USB 3.0 port.

The issue with your editor program is simply an issue with the editor itself, most likely you just need to download codecs.

I believe that should be the log attached. I will say, I would prefer the higher resolution. It is plugged into a USB 3.0 already. I will try and switch it to an adjacent one. Yeah Avid Media Composer can get annoying and codecs are surprisingly limited. Thanks. So it isn't the audio earlier, it is the video which is later. Is that like a rendering thing?

I'm actually having this exact problem. My voice is ahead of my webcam and it makes it almost impossible for people to watch me.

The only thing I can think of (but haven't tried yet) is to try running the 64 bit version of OBS. I've just always been running the 32 bit for some reason even when my system is 64.

Also try using a different output type (in the properties of the source). Soemtimes that can have an effect on how fast the video comes in.

'Ahead' is somewhat confusing wording for me. 'Earlier' or 'later' would be more ideal working. Which did you mean? (Also please post a log of your issue as well)

The voice is much earlier than the webcam (1-2 seconds). It happens over time, Progressively getting worse. Not to mention that usually my sound will cut out multiple times during the stream, which I think then initiates the delay. I think this should be the log.

Did you try the suggestions above for DanteWTF? Changing ports, lowering resolution?

Also did you guys update your drivers? Actually updating the drivers is essential for this device. The default windows drivers are terrible if I recall

Ports didn't do anything, & I really don't want to have to change the resolution. Update the drivers for what? My webcams?

Did you download the drivers from microsoft, or from logitech? You might have to get them from logitech, though I can't remember.

Unfortunately I don't quite know what's going on. I don't always have the answers, tough I wish I did. I have the same exact model of webcam as well, C920, and I've never experienced anything strange with it. I can't help but to wonder what on earth is going on here.
