Bug Report Audio Issues

Ok, so I have a blue tooth headset and I am having a problem getting the audio in my headphones while I am using my microphone. If I disable the microphone in the settings, I get sound. I went through the other devices in the settings (for both the desktop audio device and the microphone/auxiliary audio device and noticed that my microphone is a mono audio device and my headphones are a stereo audio device. I believe that is what is causing the problem (not 100% sure though), so if someone can confirm my suspicion/think of any kind of solution to my problem I'd appreciate it immensely.

No, i don't think it has anything to do with the fact that it's mono, because it typically handles mono data just fine. I don't particularly see any error in the log file -- there was one case in the log file where it seems you unplugged it during a preview/stream, but that's all that was in there in terms of warnings/errors.

I don't think I've heard of this happening to anyone before, so I'm rather baffled. I'd probably have to see the specific headset first hand to be able to confirm or not.

Though we may as well do a test, just for the heck of it. Could you try using it with this plugin? viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2579 -- disable it in audio settings and use it via this plugin, I want to see if that works or not.

Just so I'm clear on what to do, you want me to disable my microphone in the audio setting, correct? Also, I unzipped the plugin into the plugins folder, but it doesn't show up in the list of plugins, did I do something wrong?

If it doesn't show up, you may be using the 32bit plugin with 64bit OBS (or vise versa)

Okay, so you were right I did put the wrong one in. Anyway, I fixed that and set my microphone up using the plugin and still my audio will not come through my headphones. I also tried settings up my headphones using the plugin, but that didn't help either. I'm including an updated version of my log file, just in case it might help.

I had a feeling - this may be a driver related thing with your headphones. These are USB right? Do you think you could try a different port for your headphones and see if that changes anything?

Well I just meant a device that's not plugged into a regular audio jack. I'm not sure how much I can help with this unfortunately -- the fact that it doesn't work with the directshow audio source plugin means that it's definitely not the fault of the application itself -- i.e. not a bug in OBS. Instead, it's a bug probably with drivers (can't do loopback record + mic recording at the same time), so I'm sort of at a loss of what to suggest.

I have a question though -- does it have a "stereo mix" or "what you hear" output in your audio settings under microphone? does that capture your desktop sound at all? I might be able to help you make a workaround if that successfully captures your desktop sound.
