Question / Help Audio issue

I’m having issues I am on a pc and stream the games I’m playing on my pc from the same pc. However, I use the Xbox app for party chat but streamlabs obs and obs studio will not pickup any audio from the chat. Anyway to get obs to read Xbox party chat audio?

Tell your Xbox to send party chat audio to Speakers instead of Headset.

Either that, or get a hardware cable to plug your controller into a USB audio device or other audio input;

Or use the Xbox app on Windows 10 as your party client and capture its audio like any other source (may be useful in that case to have Voicemeeter)

I am not using an xbox though, I am just on a pc using the xbox app to talk to friends while i game and stream. does that make a difference? or will that still work through the app?

Then you need the 3rd option. You need to send the output of the Xbox app to a device that OBS can capture. If you install Voicemeeter it will give you a virtual device; you can have the Xbox chat send its output there, and you can then have OBS capture that device.
