I have been trying every setting that there is, but whenever I try to record as a window capture I either get a black screen and perfect audio, or a flickering, distorted screen of different file icons and still perfect audio.

Yes, I have a scene. My sources I have tried are window capture, and Display capture. I have uploaded several logs, but no problems came up except for one recommendation not to change the CPU usage preset, although for the record that changed nothing when I tried to adjust it.

I can upload the mp4's if you would like. I also tried using different formats, but they all turned out the same.

I am using an early 2009 iMac,
processor 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
startup disk Macintosh HD
Graphics card GeForce GT 130 512 MB

I am using the most up to date versions of both OBS and OS X.

What can I do?

You're trying to record 1920x1200 on 2500kbps, on an extremely weak CPU and GPU. It looks like the encoder is just giving up.

Try the HQ local recordings guide, but I wouldn't expect miracles with that hardware.

Also, the Studio-Mac forum is up a level or two and over; this one is for the old OBS Classic Windows-only codebase. :)

Haha whoops sorry about that. I'll lower the resolution and see if it helps. Thanks!
