Question / Help Audio echo, mic disabled, camera disabled

New Member
I have spent 3 hours on this and I can't figure it out. If I start streaming everything works well then about 2-3 seconds in a duplicate of the audio stream starts. I have disabled everything in the audio settings and unplugged the camera and the mic. I am listening to the stream on another system through head phones and am not previewing or watching the feed.

Any help is really appreciated, I am thinking about using my notebook instead. Below is the log file.

I plan on investing a few hours each day into solving this issue. I have disabled everything but the speakers and the problem still occurs. It's like OBS is listening to itself one time delayed by 2-3 seconds. At this point if someone would like to setup a webex with a bounty I would be happy to pay someone to help me solve this issue.

No not watching the stream and preview is off. One thing I should try is disabling the recording. Maybe OBS is picking up the 2nd sound while it is recording. My next step is to delete the audio driver and re-install it. Not sure what is so unusual about my setup. I have disabled all recording devices and playback devices except for the realtek speakers.

You are getting a double feed from your audio some where. If you are recording with a different software while streaming, check the audio source of that software. Also, check your audio recording and output in windows.

Also, is the audio coming out through speakers or headphones? Your mic. could be picking up speaker audio.

Good news is I have learned pretty much everything there is to know about audio settings in windows. However no luck. I have disabled everything but the speakers. The recording doesn't duplicate the audio but the streaming does. Chrome isn't running on my system so I know I am not streaming the stream. Preview is disabled. I tried mono, encoding with mp3 etc.

When I preview the stream I am doing it on a notebook computer with head phones. Not sure if this helps but the meters within OBS don't see the echo sound.

Is there a way to stream the recorded file?

OminousZ, before I try this would it work to by a splitter and output to the speakers and record the line in instead of the speakers?

Got it working. Removed realtek drivers installed microsoft drivers and rebooted. Not sure of the root cause but I am not going to change anything.

OminousZ thanks for the help.

Awesome application.

Glad you figured it out. Sometimes by setting the speakers to 'Default communication device' you may get that feed back from your mic actually. Good luck
