Hello all,

I've purchased a Trident 7160 Video Capturing Card to capture my local television channels on my PC.

However, everytime i preview/start recording, there will be crackling noise for the first few minutes...

Im using a NAD Amplifier with Optical input (it only has optical)... i saw a previoous thread before stating it might be the Optical port issue? But im not sure.

Any replies will be greatly appreciated!

I manage to push down the resolution, and the crackling only happen at the first 30 seconds of the video. After that, it just goes off... is there a way to bypass this audio crackling in the starting? Its as if some signalling thing is settling down?

Hi Jason, your a step ahead of me OBC won't see me trident 7160 card in the pcie slot. Did you do anything special to register is with the software ?.

While the software that came with the card (Happauge 25 DVR) happily seeing the trident card but it is poor software that crashes often.

As for your crackling issues, I suspect like me your using a machine that is barely up to scratch. If my cpu is 80% and above on recording in the Happauge software, I have all sorts of audio crackling and dropout issues. Like you if I reduced framerate etc to lower the cpu load, then audio was much more reliable. Though software just too unstable to be trusted to stay up. Which is my reason to try OBC.

So summary is any special steps/drivers to get OBC to recognise the trident cars ?.

Ta.

Hello Kaos,

I didn do anything much, i just went to add device and the Trident 7160 was there so i just used it lol.

My audio still crackels for the first 30 seconds or so, after that it is fine. But everytime i have to start a recording that happens and it is rather annoying to me
