So my stream is set up - I'm using OBS, an Elgato capture card, Astro A40s, and a PS4.
The video quality is great - no issues there.
The problem I'm running into is a buzzing sound coming from the mic. I have the Astros plugged in - and a 3.5mm (I believe) cord plugged from the stream port into the "line-in" on my PC. I believe that's the only way to get the full audio feed from my PS4.
Anyway, the audio issues are that 1) everything is quiet and 2) there's a buzzing sound. I've messed with everything and can't seem to get it to go away. My line-in volume is set at 35 - if I raise it anymore, the buzzing gets worse. If I boost the mic in OBS, it also gets worse.
I've enabled the noise gate and that has helped...some. It basically eliminates a constant buzzing because the sound isn't constantly coming in - but whenever there is any sound picked up, the buzzing begins. It's not terrible, but the problem is my sound is just soooo quiet.
I'm sure this has been asked 1000 times, but I searched and didn't come up with a real answer. Does anyone have any advice on this?
I got this error when I was pulling up the log file:
Elgato with no buffering
You do not have buffering enabled on your Elgato. This is known to cause audio desync. Check the "Use buffering" box in the Elgato source properties and set the amount to 0 ms
Could that be the issue or no?
EDIT: I actually went in and changed that, then went to examine the log file but the error keeps coming up even though that box is checked?
Thoughts?
