Question / Help Attempting To Record and Stream at Different Resolutions

Hi. I've just begun streaming, and I am really enjoying it. So first, let me thank you for OBS. It's a wonderful program.

Sadly, Twitch has this thing where, unless your a partner, the people who view your stream have to be stuck viewing your footage at what you upload it as.

Now, I can get a kind of decent 720p, occasionally, I need to lower it. (Depends on the day really.)

Anyway, I also upload my streams to youtube, and I've discovered that while I have my settings set to "1920x1080" and have it downscaled to "1280x720" for twitch, it records at 720p to my HDD.

Now I came across a guide for running 2 instances of OBS to record and stream at separate resolutions. This is a brilliant thing, and I read somewhere that this feature is planned for OBS in the future (I'm assuming for the Multi Platform version.)

Anyway, I have a pretty beefy machine. 780ti, 17-4770k cpu, with 16GB RAM, and when I attempt the method above for recording and streaming at different resolutions, I can barely keep 30fps for one of them, let alone both...

I was wondering if there was something to the settings that I might be missing that will help stabilize the FPS evenly, and give me solid 30fps for both (at the least) if not 60fps for recording and 30fps for the stream.
