Question / Help Artifacting problems, didn't change settings since moving

Hi, I too, have been getting artifacting problems.
Perhaps it is because I play a different game from before, but the settings I use are no different, and I had no problems in the past.

Here's a link to a VOD of my stream: http://www.twitch.tv/nminhbang/b/547451424

I'm currently trying out these settings https://gist.github.com/3c0d85567d1644cb64bd , but I still get the occasional artifacts on my stream.

These are my specs:
  • CPU - Intel Core i7-2600k Sandy Bridge @ 4.4Ghz
  • Heat Sink - Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus
  • Sound Card - Asus Xonar DX PCI-e 7.1 Audio Card
  • GPU - MSI GTX 660 Ti Power Edition 2GB
  • SSD - Crucial M4 128GB
  • RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws X Series (2x4gb)
  • PSU - XFX Pro Series 750W Black Edition (P1-750B-BEFX )
And my speedtest as of now: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3624151825

I have only tried tweaking my bitrates so far, currently at 2k bitrate, 2k buffer size, the audio codec AAC at 128 bitrate. I have downscaled the stream from 1080 to 720p (1.50) and 60fps

I also have tried streaming on higher bitrates, but that seems to worsen the problem, also tried using game capture instead of window capture (I play on borderless windowed/fullscreen)

I'm pretty clueless at this point, so help would really be appreciated!

Well, first of all, why are you using this custom setting?

"keyint=720"

It's rather redundant, since you can change this option with the Keyframe Interval option in the Advanced options menu. I would just get rid of this custom encoder setting, and set your keyframe interval to 2. Essentially you now have it set to 12 seconds, and this is not something you want. Set it to 2 instead, and see if that changes anything.

The following is most likely unrelated, but:

Scene buffering time set to 400

Change this to 700.

Are you using the monitor capture method somewhere? The log analyzer shows this. This method is the slowest and least efficient method of capturing something. I would suggest opting for a different capturing method.

Funny thing is, my keyframe interval is set to 2 already, it keeps changing somehow though.

I have no idea why I had that custom setting, I set that a pretty long time ago, I'll change it though.

The advanced tab now looks like this: http://grabilla.com/0470e-67974432-a288-42c2-bcc5-4086887ca3db.html#

Also the monitor capture is in a scene that I never use, for whenever I'm showing things besides the game I'm playing or webcam. (i.e. a video in youtube)

How is the quality now, though? I checked your video, by the way, and I can't really notice the artifacting you mentioned. Where in the video does it happen?

I have yet to try out the changed settings, I'll try them today though.
I'm also somewhat confused concerning the artifacting, I do see it happening when I'm live, and others mention seeing it as well, but I can't see it when looking at the vod's either.

If you don't see any artifacting in the VODs then the problem was most likely with playback and not with OBS or the stream.
