Question / Help any idea what my limits are for streaming?

You can go 3500 = 3.5Mbit.. and since you have 8,85Mbit.. there is still alot of headroom for the games..

So you can go 3500 that is max what twitch allows

Nope 2500 bitrate should be your max video bitrate, otherwise you will have people complaining about buffering. This is decent enough for either 720p @ 30 fps or 540p @ 60 fps.

thanks for the replies gents.... so CritVV the setting below are ok (downsizing and using lanczos) and also what are the differences 'pros and cons" from using 2000 bitrate to 2500

Those are good settings. I don't know how many people won't be able to view your stream at 2500 bitrate compared to 2000 bitrate. But 2000 is always safe, because it's twitch recommended max for non partners. But with most people it will also often go well with 2500 bitrate. It's just that 2500 bitrate isn't guaranteed to be viewable for every viewer. They might be able to get lag/buffer but they also might not.

Personally at 720p @ 30 fps, you wont see a noticable increase in quality going from 2000 bitrate to 2500 bitrate. It's more that if you wanna do 720p@45/60 fps per se, you'll need that 2500 bitrate in order to not make it look pixelated.
