Question / Help annoying in-game lag when using OBS

Hello,

I know this is a question asked by a lot of people but I would still like to create my own thread about this.

I'm trying to stream games that are hard to run like Arma 3 and Dayz on a laptop so there we have my first problem but bear with me. The specs of my laptop are: -Intel i7-4702MQ @2.2 GHz to 3.2 GHz
-8GB RAM
-GTX760M

I use the 64 bit version of OBS and I use global sources for everything. My laptop can run Arma 3 at standard settings and 1080p at around 30-50 fps and Dayz at high setting at 720p at around 30-40fps.

When I stream arma the fps usually goes down to 30-40fps which is still very playable but every 20s or so I get framerate drops. It also does this when I preview the stream. My uploadspeed is around 10-12mbps so that shouldn't be a problem. I use x264 with a bitrate of 3500, my procesorpriority is at above normal and the x264 cpu preset is at veryfast.

OBS also doesn't give me the warning: Cpu usage for encoding too high.

I hope anybody can help me with this problem!

Thanks in advance!

Post a log file. There's a reason it asks for one when you open a thread in Q&H. We need it, to see what's happening on the back end. :) There's also a stickied thread at the top of the Q&H forum with instructions on how to do so, or you can just upload one from the Help menu and paste the link it gives you here.

Yeah, stream to Twitch at 8mbps and you're just going to get your account banned as a denial-of-service attack... much less have anyone be able to watch your stream.
Remember: unless you're a Partnered streamer, the 'golden point' is 720p@30fps, 2000kbps.

Don't stream over Wifi. It's not meant as a replacement for running a cable. It's also not designed for high-volume steady-rate throughput, like streaming uses. You're definitely having flaky-connection issues per that log, and wifi is the top of the list as to probably why it's happening. Run a cable.

It also looks like you're running things on the integrated Intel GPU instead of the nVidia, for some reason?

It's not the wrong log, it was at 8mbps because I was recording before streaming but you can see in the log that I changed it to 3500 mbps at the beginning of the stream! I'll try and see if the problem still occurs at the golden point!

And the problem i have is that my router is in the room beneath me and there's no way to run a cable to my room, I tried doing it with those plugs that you plugin to your electricity system but I loose a lot of mbps.

And It's set to the nVidia in the settings?
