Question / Help AMD Hardware encoding

Hi,

I've tried many times and everything I can think of, but I just can't even get the option for AMD Hardware encoding. The reason I want to test it is because the main game I play uses little to no GPU, but my computer is struggling CPU wise since changing from classic to studio.

I checked the encoder page here https://obsproject.com/forum/resour...-framework-encoder-plugin-for-obs-studio.427/ and read the requirements:
  • CPU: Dual Core 2.0 Ghz Minimum, Quad Core 3.3 Ghz Recommended I have
AMD FX-8320 Black Edition (Octa core with 3.5 Ghz)
  • GPU: First Generation VCE Minimum, Third Generation VCE Recommended I have this (I have the club-3d-radeon-r9-290-royalace which falls under 2nd generation)
  • RAM: 2 Gigabytes Minimum, 4 Gigabytes Recommended I have this (8gig atm)
  • You must have the Visual Studio 2015 Redistributables installed. I did this (double checked)
  • You must have the latest AMD Driver installed. I have this (double checked)
I want to see howmuch this setting could relieve my CPU and I want to take this into account for upgrading my CPU/Mobo/Ram which I'm thinking about right now, but if I can't even get the option of Hardware encoding to pop up, how can I test which requirements I should set for my new hardware? Help is greatly appreciated!
