Question / Help AmaRecTV Live (Audio issue)

Hey there. I've been trying to fix this problem for over a year and originally I thought it was just because I had some misconfiguration from my OS install or whatever. Unfortunately, 2 days ago I did a fresh OS install and the problem is still happening (upgrade from Windows 7 to 8.1).

Basically, I'm trying to use AmaRec's live output for both video and audio and send it to OBS/XSplit as I want to record a local high quality, lossless file. My problem is that the audio goes completely weird whenever it is previewed/added (e.g. adding AmaRec Audio Capture as an audio source in XSplit). I want to hear the audio through my headset so that I don't have to use the monitor's speakers.

With OBS I can get it to work but only if I choose "Output audio to stream only". Here's a recording I did which sounds perfect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVE2zgiFGMA

Now this is the same settings but when I choose "Output audio to desktop" where it goes weird: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poApR4al8VY

At the 3 second mark I was muting OBS to see if it would change, sorry about that but hopefully you get the idea. I've done the basic stuff like make sure AmaRec is muted but also slightly more advanced stuff like configuring the sampling rate in AmaRec and on my sound card. Nothing seems to help at all.

Like I guess the solution is rather easy. I just elect not to have an audio source in OBS and play it via AmaRec itself but I really just wanna figure this out and improve my knowledge.

Are you trying to output to xsplit and OBS at the same time?? If not, continue reading :)

you could use two instances of OBS, one for audio, one for video, but that brings in a new complication to your recording.

that second recording sounds like something is mismatched with your audio formats.
I would check the default bitrate of your audio and ensure that the audio bitrate of your source coming into AMARec, the same in Amarec OBS and windows playback. the default format for your heaphones is the best to set it to. i.e. 48KHz

If this works, after it gets to OBS, you can set it to 44.1KHz or whatever.

Nah I've not been trying to use them together.

I've double checked and everything seems to be set at 48 kHz. I then changed everything to 44.1 kHz and same issue. I'm using a Realtek onboard sound card if that makes any difference?

your particular configuration is to complicated for me to know what to tell you without duplicating your configuration and seeing if I get the same issue. If I get the time, I will do this, no promises.

Thanks.

Just some quick steps if you wanna try it yourself:

1. Get AmaRecTV and install the Live setup.
2. Configure capture card in graph 1.
3. Go to Graph3(Preview) and enable Live output. Set any res or fps you want.
4. Add them to OBS with the settings (output to stream only then via desktop).
