Question / Help amarec not letting obs pickup webcam

i know this isnt made by the developers of obs but i was wondering if anyone has an answer to this. when i have obs open, but not amarec the webcam works completely fine. But as soon as i open amarec no program on my computer shows my webcam. my webcam's green light showing it is on is glowing but yet i get no picture.

Video capture devices can only be used by one application at a time on a computer. You cannot use a device with two programs at once -- you must choose wisely which program you want playing that device.

i am not using amarec for the webcam, amarec is capturing my dazzle dvc, my webcam isnt being used by any other application. But if i try to use my webcam while amarec is running and capturing my dazzle my webcam doesnt work.

Well I thought you had said that when amarec is active that the camera became acitve? It feels like that would mean that amarec was activating your webcam, even if perhaps it wasn't actually displaying it
