Question / Help Am I allowed to have ads on my youtube channel when I use OBS to record my gameplay?

I ask because a number of otherwise free Recording softwares require that I pay to be able to use it for "commercial" use (Aka having ads in your YouTube videos and on your channel).

If you're streaming with Xsplit and receiving donations/twitch $$$ yeah you would need a license. But that's only when you're streaming not recording.

Thanks for the fast reply! I wanted to ask before I did anything that would earn me money through ads and such so that I was not doing anything illegal or against the EULA.

But I was asking about OBS not Xsplit a am fully aware of the license for Xsplit.
