When you say they are corrupt, what are you actually getting?
What program are you trying to use to play back the file?
Does the file open?
If not, what error message do you get?
If it does, what is shown for the picture/audio? (screenshot would help)
Have you tried Remuxing the file to .mp4 via the File menu in OBS?
I tried to open them with Sony Vegas Pro 14
It says the error cannot be determined
but when I use my file explorer, it opens just fine
No I haven't, I have to keep it as MKV because I am sending them to someone else, and it takes too long as a mp4 because of the file size
Also, I have set up separate audio devices, but when my friend opens it in hitfilm 4 express, he has no audio
Changing the container format to .mp4 should not change the file size by any appreciable amount (only by a few kilobytes, at most). The remux process does not re-encode anything -- it just takes the raw encoded video and audio data and puts it into a different container format.
Sony Vegas apparently will not accept .mkv files directly, so these do need to be remuxed into .mp4 to work properly.
Or, you can have it done automatically after each recording by going to settings -> advanced, and checking the option to automatically remux recordings to .mp4
