Bug Report After trying to stream with OBS, can't launch games [fixed]

Ok so last night I tried to stream with OBS, and I was using game capture. I tried to launch the game (APB Reloaded), and the game did not load, but the process was still there. I ended the process, stopped streaming, and tried launching the game normally. It never loaded. I tried other games, they did not load either.

I went to system restore and restored a point in time before streaming with OBS, and I could launch games again.

Today I tried streaming again, it is the same problem, I'm going to try and test things to figure out what's going wrong.

More info: I was able to stream APB with game capture yesterday, and OBS was working fine. Then I tried to stream again with the same settings, that same day, and the problem appeared. I didn't have this problem at all until I installed OBS.

I've had this problem before, a bit ago. I remember I was trying to stream then with OBS as well. I didn't know it was OBS (I still am not sure if it's actually OBS, but it seems to be the culprit now), so I had to reinstall Windows 7 because I didn't have system restore on.

This is the first time I've seen this problem...

... do you have:
  • The latest driver for your GPU?
  • The latest updates for Windows?
  • Some kind of overlay software or some kind of GPU tweaker/tuner?
  • Some kind of aggressive AV?

There was actually a driver update for my GPU, and I have just updated them. I have all the latest updates for windows, the only overlay software I have is Steam (if that classifies as an overlay software), I do not have a GPU tuner, my AV is Microsoft Security Essentials and is not aggressive.

I just system restored again and I can launch games now. I'm going to try streaming again now that my gpu drivers are up to date and see if it works.

Given the fact you had the problem twice now across multiple installations I am going to assume there is something about your situation that is consistent, repeatable. However, I have no idea what that could be. Could you post a recent OBS log? Here's how... viewtopic.php?f=6&t=97

Haha, I wrote like a huge post originally, but it turns out it was my Mumble overlay. Sorry about that.

The weird thing is that my mumble overlay worked fine previously with these games, and now it does not work even when OBS is closed, so did OBS change something permanently that I can fix?
