Look at the log file. Don't pay attention to Windows CPU usage, its not a good indicator of when your CPU is overloaded for video encoding, unless you don't have a hyperthreaded CPU (and maybe even not then). Instead just look at whether you're losing frames.

18:20:59.580: resolution: 1920x1080
18:20:59.580: fps: 30.00 (interval: 333333)

Your USB bus is probably overloaded. Unless you're a cam-girl or something, you don't need your webcam running at 1080p. Try setting it to 540p.

Well if you didn't know 1080p helps with better chroma keying and i don't see any problems at 1080p or 720p fps is stable

as long as your ram is dual channel it won't need to be a higher clock speed. Have you overclocked the CPU? mines running at 3.8ghz. going to need some more details!

FYI, I just pulled an 8gb stick out of my gaming PC to test the dual channel. On 1080p 60fps medium x264 preset my CPU dropped from 95%+ down to a comfortable 60ish% and very smooth video playback. The bios set it down to 2133 from the original single sticks 2400mhz too.

Sounds like I really just need some 3200mhz ryzen 2x4gb kit, but they don't really seem to exist they are all 2x8gb kits : (

Interesting though that it made this much difference, now I need to work out what ram to buy. Maybe I'll just get another generic 8gb 2400mhz stick?

Thanks.
How well does it work because i have a dedicated streaming pc with an i5-8400 can do 936p at 30 fps at medium x264 but is oinned at 100 percent does dual channel really help that much?
