Over the past 2 months I have been having problems. I have no idea how to fix the problem, I have searched all over the internet for a solution but there is NOTHING. I spend more time trying to adjust settings and look for help than I do actually streaming. It is extremely frustrating.
My problem started a few weeks ago. I installed OBS and adjusted the settings accordingly based on a youtube tutorial. The first problem I had was getting OBS to record the game I was playing. (Star Trek Online) When I streamed the screen would freeze recording just me talking and not the actual game. So I looked for a solution to that problem. I found a video that suggested adjusting the Priority settings for the game I was playing. So I did. This made my pc crash. (Lesson learned) When I got back on my pc was fine and everything seemed to be ok. I fixed my screen problem by adding a 2nd monitor to my pc. I thought that would be the end of my problems, but I was wrong.
At that point When I tried to stream STO it wouldn't work at all, no video, no sound, just a black screen. When I went to Game Capture Properties in the box at the bottom of the window i get an error message stating the following.
These applications require administrator access to capture (start OBS as administrator to capture)
Arc
Star Trek Online
I don't understand why I need administrator access when I only have one user on my pc. The one I am using is an administrator. A few days ago I tried uninstalling some programs. I also uninstalled OBS then reinstalled it. It FINALLY started recording again. I thought my problems were over. But I was recording one of my off line games (Cruise Ship Tycoon), then it crashed. (The game not my pc), When I looked at the Game capture properties it said.
These applications require administrator access to capture (start OBS as administrator to capture):
Cruise Ship Tycoon
I then tried Star Trek Online again, and same as before, i couldn't stream it. All I want is to stream the games. I am clearly not a computer whiz, I know I must be missing something, but I don't know what. If someone could help me with this problem I would be truly grateful.
