Hi i just started streaming with obs today I have a pretty strong system i5 3.5 ghz gtx 970 16gb ram 1866 250gbssd 1tb 35mb connection 6 upload, , When I do not have stream on I get around 280-320 fps when I am on stream I get 100-140 is that normal for a strong computer? Does stream really use up that much fps? I already disabled the aero and also looked up a youtube video made by obs i believe had over 100k viewers and used all those settings and it was confirmed I had good settings so I dont know why such dramatic loss in fps cut by half when streaming playing game. Also the other big problem is that when I go look at my stream it repeats it self Video and Audio over and over every 3-6 seconds non stop, it almost as if it copied a portion then continues repeating the same video and audio capture for as long as my stream is open if you could help me with these two issues i would be very grateful thank you.

your fps is fine, a lot of streamers stream in 720p with 30-60 fps, as for the repeating i have no idea, so yours saying your stream is just the first 6 secs repeating over and over?

you mean 30-60 fps set in there obs software or actually getting 30-60 fps in game? Im getting around 100 fps in game when streaming a drop from 300+ fps when im not streaming is that normal is something wrong with my settings or system? Yea it keeps repeating over and over just the first few seconds.

Is there anyone that can help me? I fixed the issue with the replaying it dosnt do that no more but when im streaming it gets blurry when i move for the streamers i have a i54690k 16gb nividia gtx 970, dunno why its doing this its not very clear and smooth can someone help me please.

post your logfile for additional help. its under the help menu. copy the link that it posts here.

no your CPU isn't as strong as you think it is for streaming and gaming, an i7 would be more-so.

you could also try quicksync or NVENC since you have the capability for both. just note, those two need more bitrate to keep up with the quality of x264.

I have the same problem, I just upgraded my graphics card, and when i did i got an gpu error, after that error i was trying to stream league and i kept having lag spikes, i was able to stream at 60 fps on league while streaming on my old GTX 750, now i have the GTX 960, and i'm lagging.... this is my computer specs.
8 GB RAM
AMD 6300 6Core
GTX 960 MSI TWIN FROZR
1 TB HDD
Upload speed is over 35+
Download speed is 70+

dping, I spoke with 3 different computer building companies and they said if I want the computer for just gaming and light streaming i5 4690k makes no difference they said the diffference is so small its not worth the extra $120-$140 to get the i7 model, They said the i7 has extra cores that make it better for streaming it will mainly benefit you in the stream sense so they said if you are going to be doing intense streaming and lots of hyper threading i7 is better fit but if its just for gaming the difference is so small its not worth the extra money 3 reliable sources said the same thing I dont know are you sure the i5 4690k is not that good for gaming, anyways i think its fixed I increased the bitrate it was only at 1000, hopefully it is fixed if not i will come back and post i appreciate your time, it is working so far on one game now i want to try anotherr game.

many manufacturers also believe that you just need 60fps in game for it to be fluid. Not that I'm completely disagreeing about what they said about the i5 and i7 but, its just your baseline is 300fps in game with streaming and I'm saying that might be a little to much for an i5 without the use of NVENC, quicsync or the like.

I didn't get 270-300fps in game while streaming at 720@60 until I upgraded to a fast i7.

Oh i dunno honestly i dont know much about the i7 thats why i asked a lot of questions but there information could be wrong, Of course i7 would always be better they just made it sound like in gaming aspect the difference is not much comparing the 4690i5 and i7 they said the difference would be seen in streaming but oviously they were def wrong about the i5 being able to run stream solid because i had to change the rate much higher didnt work on 1000 but without stream i get around 280-350+ and "400+ when idle not moving" but i think that could be most likley cause of the graphics card i really dunno but when i have stream on it drops really low down to "100-160fps" Is there something wrong with the computer like the parts? Is stream suppose to make my fps drop that dramatically with this system?

as I said in the post above. post your log file please. I do not work by e-mail, all help is public forum. that way someone else might be able to get the fix that you had.

Ok, here are the settings.
raise bitrate and buffer to 3000-3500 for 1080@30. disable preview while streaming make sure in home streaming and broadcasting are disabled from steam. I personally would not use 1080p for csgo. I would downscale to 720p and set fps to 48. With 3400 buffer bitrate. Will look nice and fluent

Ok thx! <3 im going to do it right now, how do i change it to 720p i mean what is 720p is that 1280/720? So what do i set the resolution downscale to? and what do i set the base resolution custom to? Did all the rest of the settings seem ok?

base resolution 1920 x 1080, downscale to 1280 x 720 with lanczose filter

Ok thank you so much I will try it out later and let you know how it works so i did all that plus changed fps to 48 and i put bitrate 3400. TY! :)
