Question / Help Adding Custom Animations

Easy-ish.

2 Options I can see.

1: Clone your existing scene
Using a video source plugin, add a layer on this new scene containing the animation you want (AVI Rendered - Alpha transparency).
Assign a hotkey to that scene.

2: Browser based
Add a browser layer to your scene, ensuring you use Chroma Key to maintain transparency.
The source will be whatever animation you wish to display.
Have this animation set to fade in, then out.
Using an application (Autoit for example), set up a macro to enforce a refresh on the web-element.

Or combine the both.

For my stream I use option 1, and it works well.

And 20 minutes between OP and bump isn't all that kosher ;)

Correct.

I've imported animated GIF/PNG's into Adobe Premiere in the past and exported them as AVI's with alpha (Transparency) before.
