Question / Help Add computer feed

Hey All,

My church is currently using a cheap Logitech webcam with OBS to stream. Video quality isn't what we want and plan to upgrade to a PTZ optics USB camera. We would like to also have the presentation computer as a source in OBS. recording/streaming & presentation computers are sperate machines. Looking for some recommendations on an interface or something. thanks!
 
If your computers have enough processing power, you could try installing OBS on the presentation computer, and add the display as the source. Then install the NDI OBS plugin, and enable the output as a NDI source. Then, on the main OBS computer, again install the NDI plugin for OBS, and add a new source as the output from the other computer.

What this does is it sends the feed over the network, but it will eat away at the presentation computers processing power.

Hi! I had a question too concerning my church's live stream... Can OBS capture a live stream from another location? Like... Can I live stream from my house and have the OBS program at my church capture my stream and then add it as an input option to the live stream that they are doing there?

I would recommend in your case having the computer running OBS on-site, but using a software such as TeamViewer to control the computer from a remote location. You would need to download the TeamViewer software on your machine and the machine at church, and remote-in every time.

Sorry for my late reply.

The benefit of using TeamViewer is to switch sources in another location. I use the free version, so there is no cost involved. What TeamViewer does is it allows you to access a computer from across the web. Instead of you having OBS on your computer and accessing a stream from another location, you have OBS on-site, with all the hook-ups, and just control your OBS from home using TV.
