How do I record gameplay without needing to use display capture?

I play GTA 5 or League for instance, it sometimes captures and it sometimes never does.. which is super wierd...

Also, Which settings are the best for my current rig?

5820k OC'ed to 4.3ghz
16gb ram
r9 390 8Gb Vram AMD

I want it to not be blurry, like the bitrate to be high, but i dont wanna sacrifice gameplay,i dont want stuttering gameplay and crashes..


for 1080p 60fps

What should i put for these settings?

-Buffer size
-CRF value (should i put CBR?)
-CPU Usage preset
-Encoder
-Keyframe interval seconds

I wont touch the rest, but currently

-my profile is none
-my tune is none
-VFR unchecked
-x264 options left blank
-x264 is the encoder
-and Generate file name without space checked
-on MP4
under standard

Ok, ive set it as my baseline, it uses like 5% cpu currently, i want to get more quality, i need the video to be less pixelated and more sharp, what should i increase/decrease?

Assuming you're streaming to Twitch, change your preset from Very Fast to Faster, or increase the bitrate from 2000 to 2500 or 3000.

A lot of assumptions, post an OBS log file from a five minute session of high action content if you want more a sure thing.
