Question / Help 720p 60fps Quality seems terrible.

Knowing that I am not a Twitch Partner and understanding that Streaming in 1080p 3300 bitrate may leave a majority of the stream viewers with problems buffering that leads me to look into 720p. If I cannot have quality It would be nice to have smoothness at 60fps. When streaming it seems the 720p is nothing near "HD" and looks to me terrible. Here are two side by side pictures, on the Right is the Desktop Cature on the left is the Stream in Full screen and then a small comparison of the two.

A log is attached as well. Is there a way to make 720p better, or is this the best you really get? It also seems that when streaming 720p 60fps Fast pasted action (120fps CS:GO) that it turns out VERY blurred and almost not worth watching. When comparing to streamers that are partnered I am very stumped at what I'm not doing right.

Thanks

Please keep in mind that you are stretching the image if you view it in fullscreen. Can you provide a VoD Link? Your example picture doesn't look that bad.

Did you choose a filter in the video settings?

Bear in mind, the recommended maximum bitrate for a non-partnered streamer is 2000kbps. This is more than enough for a good-quality 720p@30fps stream.

If you downscale, text WILL get blurry no matter what you do. The ONLY resolution for this is to play the game at 720p as well, and stream with no downscale. It will also give significantly improved on-stream sharpness overall, though may look worse on your monitor if it is not a native 720p unit.

Drop your audio to AAC128; the difference is almost un-noticeable, and will save you (and your viewers) bandwidth. I would also recommend dropping to 44.1KHz audio, 48KHz is unnecessary unless you have an audio device that will not provide output at 44.1.

Do NOT use Monitor Capture under Windows 7 except as an absolute last-resort. It's the slowest capture method, and while turning Aero off will help make it slightly less bad, it's still terrible. Use a game capture instead, or a window capture. Without Monitor Capture dragging you down, you may be able to run 720@30 with a slower than default preset and get good image quality. It won't be AS fluid as a 60fps stream, but it'll be much more watchable.

Bear in mind that fast-paced action will require more bitrate, ESPECIALLY on a game with a large amount of full-screen motion (like any FPS). Framerate is a multiplier on this; you'll get better image quality at 30fps while exchanging some smoothness. Smooth motion versus image fidelity.

Ferret - I'm pretty sure the desired maximum bitrate for non-partnered streamers is 3500, not 2000.

typeGaming - On top of their suggestions, if you want good quality, don't skew/stretch your image, use more bitrate, if using downscale use a downscale filter. Downscaling will always reduce text quality as has been said. More FPS will require more bitrate.

So I do have a filter its Lanczos (Best detail 36 samples)

Its Native 1920x1080 and Downscale to 1.50 (1280x720)

I was at 2500 bit rate as I didn't know the exact required bit rate for 720p 60fps.

I have changed the Audio Quality, I had some Audiophiles tell me it was important to have that higher, but maybe not.

Thanks for the input guys, Ill get a VOD up.
