Question / Help 7.1 Headset issue

Hello guys,

I got a new Headset, which is a Logitech G35 and it works perfectly when I don't stream while playing.
When I start to stream everything is fine but after some time my outputs(e.g. Left and right ; back and forth) are inverting, for example when something is on my right, i hear it on my left. I went to the store where I bought the headset and i got a new one but that didn't change anything. I also upgraded from Win7 to Win8 but it didn't helped. I contacted the Logitech support also but then I found out that I only have the problem when I am streaming with OBS.

Regards,
Splinti

Wait, hold on a sec, does this happen in your ears, or on stream? If in your ears, then definitely not OBS fault. OBS only reads audio data, it does not modify anything related to audio or the device.

So it *is* coming through your ears? Just because something happens when you have some programming running does not mean that that specific program is at fault, there's a lot more to computers than that. Drivers, device interference. OBS activates a lot number of devices at once, which can cause this sort of thing. Not by intention, or by fault of the program itself, but by circumstance and potentially bugs/flaws in in the system or drivers, that's all. If you want to conclude the problem then I can't stop you, there'll be nothing more I can do to help you at that point if that's what you'd rather choose to do.

I am not even trying to defend my program here. I am simply telling you one simple thing: OBS does not modify your device signal, it only reads the sound from the device, nothing more. Every time I've heard of someone having a similar issue it has always been something else at fault. Usually, it's some sort of interference, and they tend to fix this issue by plugging in their device(s) to different ports, or switching to USB 3.0 if 2.0 or vise versa, or they fix it by turning down their webcam resolution to reduce data being transmitted on USB. Or sometimes even video and encoding can be a factor. However, it's just not a bug in OBS, and I am not saying that in defense. If anything, for all I know it could be a bug in windows even, but it's definitely not a bug in OBS.

Anyway, if you are willing to hear me out, then post a log file, and if you have any webcams active, try it with the webcams completely off just to check to see if that has any influence. If that doesn't work, try switching ports for the device you're using, or if it's in USB 2.0 and you have 3.0 ports, try the 3.0 ports, or vise versa.

I didn't wanted to make you angry nor say that your program is bad, it's actually the best program I've ever used because the other software are too CPU-heavy.

Firstly, whenever I restart OBS it asks me to update OBS, then I restart it and it tells me about a NVENC license and I have to replace the DLL again. I saw a post about NVENC and wanted to test it and I downloaded a license for it and just put it in my folder. Is this error normal?

Anyway, I switched the Headphones to USB 3.0 and it worked! Thanks alot man!

I shouldn't have responded like that either, my apologies. In retrospect I realize that you probably didn't mean it the way you made it sound.

Yea, I figured it would be something like that though. That sort of solution definitely means that it had to have been some sort of interference. I'm glad you got it working.

For NVEnc, I don't think you need to replace the DLL anymore. You should be able to use the latest nvidia beta drivers and use it directly.

Okay, i'll try it, streamed for 6 hours now WITHOUT problems =) thanks alot man! <3

And because of this NVENC thing I can now stream Battlefield 4 without my CPU overheating :D that's awesome ^^
