Question / Help 2pc Setup questions.

Hey all,

I just set up my 2nd pc with an Avermedia capture card.
It works great after some figuring.

But now i come to my 2nd part, wich i have no idea how to do this.
So i hope some people have the same setup and can tell me how you did it.

Like how do you use the audio? From the capture card or ?
And for example, how is this possible..
I use teamspeak on Game PC, The mic has to be recorded there. But also on the Stream PC for the Stream ofc.
And the sound of my Game pc has to be recorded to the stream, but i also want to play some music on the Stream PC that only the stream can hear and not me.
How is this possible?

the music is no problem, as long as you have OBS on the stream pc record the desktop audio you can have it play in the background, of course setting volume and such needs its own tweaking.
As for audio from the game pc, HDMI can carry an audio signal so you can use the capture card for that. Mic audio is easy, you can just right-click the speaker icon on the right side of your taskbar and select "recording devices", open the properties of your Mic and in the "listen" tab have it send the input to the HDMI audio device.
Game sound is a bit more tricky, since you probably want to have it on both computers. I have a hardware solution for this but you might want to look into a piece of software called "Virtual audio cable" and use a similar "listen" function to include it into the stream while also hearing it.

Hey thanks for the response.
Im using A dvi -> hdmi so it doesnt support my audio i think.
I dont have room for a hdmi to my capture card.
So OBS can listen to 2 devices? like itself and the audio in from the capture card?
So if i do what you say with the record my self. I only need the sound from the game pc to the stream pc.

Is it possible to take a splitter?
And is it possible with female to 2 males?. or also 2 females and 1 male ?

Yes, if you're not using the HDMI cable for audio, that means you need to string a separate cable to the stream computer's line in (or optical in). I just use a 3.5 mm Y splitter cable on the front speaker outs to do it.

Its probably easier to get an HDMI cable and use the HDMI out from your video card, assuming it has one (I imagine nearly every modern video card has an HDMI out in addition to the DVI) and that it supports HDMI audio.

Also note that the 3.5mm audio in on the Live Gamer is horrible, frequently complained about on the Avermedia forums before Avermedia took them down. Make sure your stream computer has a sound card for its Line In instead.

Ok thanks for letting know, then i use the sound card instead.
Can the same trick with the Y splitter be used for the microphone ?
Because if i listen to my microphone i hear noise, wich i want to be able to remove with the noise gate.

Why use tech when you can use software like voicemeeter? Simply set the default audio to go to voice meeter, then set the voicemeeter outputs A1 to your headphones and A2 to the capture card.

Hey thanks for all the respones, i think its all good now.
I just hook my mic up to the Stream pc and might use Teamspeak there.

I do still have some questions lol.

Currently this is waht i have till now.
Monitor duplicated to streaming pc with Dvi cable.
My Sound splitted into my own pc and to the streaming pc's line in.

This all works great.

But i guess its impossible to not have the Streaming PC listen to Teamspeak right?
And i still don't know what to do with the microphone. Since i need it on both pc's i geuss.
I tried the option to listen to it. But didn't really like that.
