Before i start.... MY SETUP:

Monitors:
AOC g2460pg - 144 hz - display port to GFX card (main monitor)
Samsung S22C350 - 60hz - HDMI to GFX card (OBS, chat etc.)
GPU: Geforce GTX970
CPU: I7-4790K @ 4.00 (oc to 4.40)
Memory: 16GB
Windows 10
Samsung SSD (Everything is on this atm)

I am very new to streaming and I started a 2 monitor setup to help over look a few things,
but when I try and preview my OBS stream on my 2nd monitor, my game (csgo) goes down to 1fps and you cannot do a thing!
As soon as the preview is turned off i can then stream perfectly fine.

This also happens when I have twitch chat on my second monitor, but this only happens when some one sends a message.
after the message has sent my fps goes back to normal and the game is playable.

Would running 2 different monitor hz cause this? Or is there something stupid im not doing/setup?

I am also sure it is not just OBS and twitch chat freezing things, but these are the main problems. Steam friends and teamspeak
run on the 2nd monitor with out any problems.

I am useless at explaining things so if the above is confusing let me know!

Thanks in advance

Besides your settings being way to high, I couldn't imagine this happening but post a link to your logfile.

also don't watch your own stream and instead use a popout chat from twitch.

1 FPS? did the game freeze/pause for one second?

Having different refresh rate on same graphics card with a 60 Hz having v-sync might slow down game to 60 fps, depending on graphics card. Disabling aero does fix that for windows 7, but aero can't be disabled on newer windows. Not sure if there is a way to disable aero's v-sync.

Maybe use a separate computer to look at twitch chat.

I found a solution! Setting my game (which im playing on my main monitor) to a high priority seems to fix it.

Will let you know if I find a better solution
