I thought I had discovered a fix for this on my own but alas no... There is a chromakey option on software capture source, but it actually doesn't work. I had gotten an OBS2.exe from someone in the IRC for the purpose of streaming to 2 sites at once, and I used the 2nd one to capture my webcam. Then I pointed the first OBS.exe to it and planned to use its chromakey option for the 2nd passthru the filter. Was sad it doesn't work. Please fix the chromakey on software capture next release! I'm not sure why it's checkable and configurable but doesn't actually do anything. :(

Looking at the image you provided, it looks like your greenscreen is very poorly lit. For greenscreen to work, you have to have a pretty bright white light shining on you and the sheet to get consistent color and reduce shadows, and your current setup looks way too dark to me.

My keyboard should have joysticks on it for games where that's more appropriate. Damn keyboard manufacturers making a lackluster product.

Get a gamepad. I'm not the one playing dev here btw. I agree though there should be joysticks under spacebar... some kb manufacturer could make a killing off this. People who don't game already have all the kbs they'll ever need. Gaming is where the growth is.

No, actually, it's not. There's only so much you can do with software until it becomes an issue of what is and isn't possible within reason.

Go to Wal-Mart, buy a desk lamp and white light for $10, and shine it at yourself. It's faster than waiting for OBS to implement what you're asking (which, frankly, will almost certainly never happen), and it will give better results. Two lights would be even better.

If only the Hollywood studios had better software, they could save millions on the expensive lighting equipment.
MILLIONS I say!

I sense some trolling coming from Grimio, but I have to say ... he might actually be right?

Anyways, If a 2 year old can tell the difference between bluish seafoam green and greenish seafoam green, then I think a software like chroma-key can do it also.

Joe, listen. I realize you want a feature which caters to your.. unique situation. However, please consider the following:

1.) I made this app in my spare time, which I might add was a significant amount of time at that
2.) I made this app for free, as well as open source, all technology available and known, modifiable by anyone via GPL, with no actual request for anything in return from anyone
3.) There are a fair amount of bugs and issues, as well as features, which are far higher priority than this
4.) I cannot give everyone every feature they want, I am a single human being, have limited time, limited interest, and I can only do things one at a time
5.) Others have given you fairly good advice on how to improve your situation. Muf actually works with film editing professionally on a regular basis, and if you refuse to take his advice, well.. then I am most sad.

Your continued pushing and responding to this thread is coming across in a negative light to everyone else, and they are beginning to respond negatively, and I've had to edit out a few negative responses already.

I understand you are frustrated, or maybe don't wish to spend money for proper lighting, but realize that as you have these limitations in your situation, I have limitations in my situation. Your situation is not easy, but neither is mine.

Imagine for a moment in which at any given time you have countless people requesting something from you, and you are a single person who just wanted to share something with the world, and it's never enough.

I acknowledge my software is not the best, I acknowledge my software has limitations, but it would be very wise not bite the hand that feeds with remarks such as "better software > buying lighting kit". Though I realize you probably didn't mean it in the way it sounded. (I hope)
