Question / Help 2 PC Stream - AverMedia C985.

Hello,

So I've been having terrible issues with audio working correctly through the stream for the last couple of days. The initial day I was able to get it up and running no problem, now that I've restarted both computers (turned off for the night) only thing I'm able to do is get video correctly sent.

Currently I've got my Headphones able to hear music, but the AVERMEDIA settings haven't been touched, and are still kept through the "Recording" tab through the STereo Mix to listen and send audio through the avermedia.

Currently my Gaming PC has an HDMI cable (which displays my second monitor and mimics to send video to the Capture card; HDMI IN). I've gone into the Streaming PC and in obs made sure the Audio from Right clicking the video capture source as (Use Device Audio) and Output audio to stream only.

When I'm on the Gaming machine the AVERMEDIA will send the audio correctly if it's set as the Default, but that obviously cuts all my audio and I'm unable to hear through my speakers (Either through USB or 3.5'').

Please help!

I was able to get it working at one point with my 3.5mm and have audio split between the speakers and sending through HDMI, so please tell me what else I'll need to provide and I'll try my best to provide in a timely manner.

If you'd like to speak to me directly let me know and I'll get on Skype or something.

Thanks!

hey bro i have an identical setup but i need more details here, are you connecting gaming pc to rendering pc using hdmi only (counting splitter) ?

Yes currently that's the only thing tying the two pc's together is a single HDMI Cable. There is no Splitter (I'm assuming you're talking some 3.5mm Y splitter or something like that).

sorry i was gone, well couple of things here, if you are using hdmi to send the audio to the streaming pc this may not work for you when it comes to sound because hdmi sends audio and video on the same signal this will only work if you are using your video card audio as yoyr default audio for your pc, you need to send the audio from your onboard sound card(audio out) to the avermedia audio in by using a3.5m. audio cable and by connecting and dvi to hdmi adapter out of your video card (by doing so you will negate hdmi cable from sound ) .
Also a little bug that i found with REC central and obs in order for sound to be "active" on streaming pc. is to open rec central press ready then close the program. and lunch OBS
if you have more questions let me know i hope it helps

okay well I don't understand the need for an HDMI Splitter right now, if I'm not needing to split the signal. I'm already getting signal sent out and OBS is capturing what I need it to, so you'll need to expand on why I "need" a hdmi splitter.

Yeah I'm still having issues. I honestly don't know anymore what else to do. Audio is NOT passing through the HDMI even with the Listen Option for the Recording device unless I fully place the Playback/Aver as the default, but that leaves me with not being able to hear anything coming out.

I've found that i needed to restart two services on windows 7 before the 'listen to' would work.
in a cmd run with administrator, run
net stop AudioEndpointBuilder
net start AudioEndpointBuilder

on windows 7, starting AudioEndpointBuilder wont start the Audiosrv automatically, so run
net start Audiosrv

after doing this, listen to should work again.
