Question / Help 2 computer setup HDCP problem

My Normal streaming setup is from a gaming PC to my streaming PC with an Avermedia Live Gamer HD card. This normally works great. Good framerate, high resolution, just fine.

I just got a macbook pro and would like to stream some things from there as well. So I ran an HDMI cable from my MBP to my capture card, but in OBS I get a black screen displaying HDCP. When I open up Rec Central, though, it displays the MBP desktop just fine. So The signal is coming in, but OBS is having a hard time with it.

Is there a fix or workaround for this?

I should say that my rec central will preview the screen, but I didn't not try to record it. So I don't know if that works.

Also I'm just trying to do desktop streaming, not any media or games. And I've never watched Netflix on the MBP. If any of that helps.

RECentral can display HDCP-protected content, OBS can't, neither can record it. The problem is with the content you're sending to the capture card.

So the Mac's monitor out triggers the hdcp even though the only content is my desktop, chrome, and Xcode?
