Question / Help 2 Big Problems :( Please help

Ok so i just recently got OBS but i have 2 problems. ok so the first problem is, how do you save the OBS icon thingy on your desktop after you finish the installer? Like i have to literally go through the whole installer just to go on the OBS page. The second problem is the main one. Whenever i record and put it into my videos folder, it looks like this http://gyazo.com/261c435d40f2b6b13b144afacdf209ff I cannot open it and whenever i watch tutorials it looks like THIS http://gyazo.com/541fe7d9b5117152819dc2a68a507fbc with windows media player on it. whenever i try to click on the file it says this http://gyazo.com/155f852a3b1067bd0223c6260e1cbc2d whenever i try to open with something it just says the same thing. I have a Windows Vista btw. (Old computer)

If anyone could please solve this that would mean a LOT

You need to save it as MP4 or remux the file to MP4. FLV files don't get the preview thumbnail like that.

As for the OBS desktop link, it should do that automatically when you install it.
