Hello everyone,

So as the title says i have one desktop PC, and two monitors. I'm looking to have the game fullscreen on one of the monitors and then the chat etc on the other one.

Is this possible and if so, how? Please try and explain it it simple terms, Im not very good at this type of thing..

Thank you in advance

Yes, it is. Just make sure you're running in 'extend' mode (windows sees them as two separate monitors) and not in 'span' mode like some video cards can do (windows sees both monitors as one big monitor instead). Then just put your game on one monitor, your chat on the other.

How easy is it to set up? I have an AMD graphics card if that helps, AMD Radeon R9 290 to be percise..

Can it be done with only HDMI's? I have an HDMI Splitter too so that could work if I'm thinking about this right? Sorry I'm a bit slow on all of this.

HDMI splitter will not help you. That will make the same picture appear on both monitors.

Your GPU likely has multiple outputs. Just plug your monitors into each output, open your Display/Screen Resolution settings from Control panel, select your second monitor, and say Extend desktop to this display.

Just as an example, I am running a Radeon HD 79xx series, and have it connected to 3x 32" HDTVs.

The first is connected directly via the GPU's HDMI port.

The second is connected to the DVI port with a DVI-to-HDMI cable.

The third is connected to the card's DisplayPort with an Active DisplayPort to HDMI cable.

All three run very well in tandem, and gives me plenty of room for different things on the left and right displays, all while having whatever game I am broadcasting take up the full center monitor.

Keep in mind to run the game in fullscreen+windowed mode if possible so you can easily access the other two displays and OBS without having to jump out of the game itself (which, in standard full-screen mode, would minimize)
