Hello everyone!

I thank the maintenance team working on OBS before any remarks!

I test your software for some months and I find it really great, however, the more we advance in this version moin stable.

Let me explain, as you can see on the field below images with version 0.473b OBS I have no packet loss of exchange on my Youtube stream.
With version 0.51b OBS there problems with lost packets and thus stabiliter.

Screen OBS 0.473b : http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/575504OBS1.png
Screen OBS 0.51b : http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/506649OBS2.png

I do not know if the team was aware of these problems during these two test I use exactly the same settings, the same flow, the same platform, so I'm forced to stay on the old version of OBS for due to stability.

I just wanted to report this problem to the team because you really made a very beautiful work, I encourage you to read and thank you again for the work carried out!

PS: Please excuse me if what I said can not clear, I use google translation: x

Re: My Stability Test 0.51b Failure

Hello!

I have exactly the same issue with the new OBS versions. All setting are the same and I experience a massive frame loss.
BUT the interesting thing is that in my case OBS loses frames when there is a high load of viewers on Twitch (like Dreamhack tour etc). When I stream in the mornings (GMT +8) it seems to be fine, with no drops.

What streaming service are you streaming to? In terms of dropping frames, the only thing that changed would have to be either the server you picked, or your own internet connection. Run a speed test at http://speedof.me or http://testmy.net to see how fast your internet is performing, and if you can choose a different streaming server for your streaming service, try that too.

However, there are some other issues with your log, too...First, you should disable Aero if you are going to use Monitor capture, because Monitor Capture + Aero = bad performance.

Also, it looks like you have a TON of game capture sources and Monitor capture sources in a single scene...is there a reason for this? You shouldn't have them all in the same scene like that. If you are just unchecking them so they disappear, they remain in memory and are still consuming system resources.

I stream on Youtube only.

I just tested and even to disable Aero and new worries and still own the profile here.

I have no problem when I use the old version of OBS, so why think that the worries vien of my connection?

The problem really comes from the software, I'm not crazy ^ ^ "

"OBS loses frames when there is a high load of viewers on Twitch"

"I stream on Youtube only."

...I don't see how twitch would be affecting youtube streaming.

Re: 0.51b dropping frames?

Come in and talk to me in chat and go through the debug process, if you have time. I need to go over some things if at all possible.

Just as a side note, you are also relying on the disable functionality for all your scene items. Don't rely on the checkboxes like that, they were implemented for temporarily disabling items.. All those captures are partially active even when disabled. Use separate scenes and use a single capture in a single scene if at all possible. Guess I'm going to have to go back into the code and make sure they're fully destroyed when unchecked instead of using it as a "disable" functionality.

Listen, I'm, sorry, I don't mean to be editing posts like this, it's just not a good day.

It would be extremely helpful and likely speed up the process of addressing your issue if you could come in to chat and work through some debugging.

I am available to come to discuss, but I'm pretty good with computers but I'm not a developer, but if I can help achieve accelerated the resolution of this problem I would be happy to help you.

Re: 0.51.01/0.521b dropping frames?

If your upload is only 1Mbps and you're bit rate is 900kbps, you are streaming too close to your upload speed. Reduce your bit rate to 600 and enable CBR and see if that helps.

Re: 0.51.01/0.521b dropping frames?

Your network is more congested now? I'm not sure, maybe the frame drop code was more liberal back then and has since been tightened up. It's possible that in the past, it should have been dropping frames and it didn't.

Streaming so close to your max upload speed is a reliable way to drop lots of frames. The x264 encoder fluctuates its bit rate requirements based on the scene that is being encoded, and even more when not using CBR. Your own internet connection speed will fluctuate, and x264's bit rate requirements are bound to fluctuate, and when streaming so close to your max upload speed, you are sooner or later going to need more speed bandwidth than you have available from time to time.
